About

The world of microbes has always fascinated me, specifically speaking about viruses. The zeal to know
more to discover something out of the box, something that would be novel has been there within me since childhood.

My interest in viruses, and specifically HIV, grew from a very slide that I recall, my professor at college, showing us the inexplainable pain, suffering, and social stigma that HIV patients face. To add to it, I remember him telling us, that as budding scientists if we want to do something we must for these patients.
During my MSc. I have had the opportunity to work on HIV and a good amount of exposure to several
techniques, since I worked on HIV1 subtype C maturation inhibitors. Thus making my interest grow in this domain.

In my PhD, I am glad to continue in my area of interest, and having previous exposure to the subject, makes it more relevant for me to work on my current topic, which is HIV entry inhibitors, which finally  aims at a vaccination approach.
Thus working in this field has never been a compulsion for me, but merely my interest in this field, that has given me the opportunity to continue my work from master’s to PhD, though a completely different aspect, but in the end having the same goal, that is to lower if not eradicate the number of deaths caused due to HIV, and in the long run help us take a step forward in winning a battle against the same.
